Loewe: A Spanish Luxury Fashion House
High-end fashion brand, Loewe, is a Spanish luxury fashion house that was founded in 1846 in Madrid. Originally specializing in leather purses and handbags, the brand has even produced accessories for the Spanish royalty. The label is now seen on the backs of many celebrities under control British designer Jonathan Anderson.
Branching out from designer leather goods, Loewe launched its ready-to-wear collections in 1965 and was acquired by LVMH group in 1996.
The label has seen many changes over the years, but none compare to when J.W. Anderson took control. Known for his conceptual unisex collections and his London-based label J.W. Anderson – he joined in 2013, and took a year out to reimagine the Loewe’s aesthetic. The goal was to figure out how to turn this rather conservative beacon into a modern, cultural brand while still paying homage to its heritage.
The new identity included a fresh logo-design as well as debuting the brand’s first men’s collection to widespread acclaim. Since then the brand has made many changes and become one the well known fashion houses.
Aside from luxury fashion items such as ready-to-wear clothes and leather goods, the brand also produces home and lifestyle products such as towels, journals, wallets and keyrings. Available now online at a-ma-maniere.com!
