Lisa Lë Strange, a brand that came to life by multi-talented artist Are Bernard, is now available at A Ma Maniére boutiques and online. Bernard embraces the strange stages of becoming comfortable with our own selves through misfit symbols using hand drawn style elements.
How did Lisa Lë Strange come to be?
First and foremost my background is drawing and painting, so that was my foundation. Lisa Lë Strange came to be from my love for clothing. Being such a fan of Stüssy, Margiela, and the likes of CDG, I just knew I wanted to create my own clothing universe where strange things happen.
What emotion do you hope to evoke through Lisa Lë Strange?
To be brave and honest with yourself, look in the mirror and accept who you are. It's okay to be different and it should be celebrated.
Where did the name come from?
It's actually my mother's name mixed with a very French twist. She is my inspiration and the one who pushed me to embrace uniqueness.
What are you currently listening to, to stay creative?
At the moment Stereolab, Cortex, Lil Baby, and Jamiroquai just to name a few.
