Where Legacy Lives
Honoring generations of HBCU culture through the Nike Air Max Yardrunners and Jordan x Howard University apparel capsule.

Homecoming season is more than just a return, it’s a tradition that calls alumni, friends, and family back home. It’s the sound of drums echoing across the yard, the sight of familiar faces under fall skies, and the feeling of coming back to something that made you who you are. Each HBCU Homecoming carries its own rhythm, its own heartbeat, and together they tell one collective story, of legacy, pride, and a culture that never stops creating.
That same heartbeat moves through Nike’s Air Max Yardrunners collection. Each design honors a campus that helped shape the fabric of Black excellence, a reminder that the yard isn’t just a place, but a living story. As Homecoming season unfolds, Florida A&M University and Spelhouse welcome generations back home from October 12–18, while Howard University and Norfolk State University celebrate the following week, October 19–26. The colors, craftsmanship, and storytelling behind each silhouette reflect the unity, pride, and perseverance that connect classrooms to culture and past to present.

The impact extends through the Jordan x Howard University capsule, now available at A Ma Manière D.C. The collection merges sport and scholarship, paying tribute to Howard’s deep legacy and lasting influence. Timed with Howard’s own Homecoming celebration, the capsule stands as both a reflection of heritage and a symbol of the excellence that continues to define the HBCU experience.

The Nike Air Max Yardrunners collection releases Saturday, October 11 at 11 AM local time, available in-store at select A Ma Maniére locations. The Nike Air Max Yardrunners “FAMU” will be available at A Ma Maniére Atlanta, Houston, and D.C., while the “Norfolk State” colorway will be released at A Ma Maniére Atlanta and D.C. The “Spelman College” edition will be released at A Ma Maniére D.C., honoring three institutions whose legacy and pride continue to define generations. This season, we honor the schools, the students, and the stories that continue to shape the culture, on the yard and far beyond it.
